These poems are from a series inspired by reading Atlas Obscura stories while listening to a music genre randomly selected from my list. The poems were written immediately after reading, still while listening to the randomly chosen music. Meet the Scientists Who Pollute Lakes on Purpose (read article here)
(punk)

ah, the clicker trained environmentalist,
the guy who’s only there to drive the boat,
only to take photographs. a science of one,
a murder of one, to save how many,
and all the other times this line has never worked.
If I could go back in time, I’d kill the guy
who wrote “You Light Up My Life.”
You decide if it’s because he was a rapist
or just an optimist-for hire.
There are so many swords to fall on,
and all of them are dicks.
You can learn all you need to know about weapons
from the Boy Scouts. Shoot a rifle, get a badge,
ignore paramilitary overtones, get a badge.
To kill someone, just reverse what you’d do
to survive. None of these things are hard
when you’re just the guy driving the boat.
